{I see red...}

untitled-1b

Adorable red-haired little boys.  When I met these two at our session I was in awe at these handsome little boys with such adorable dimples.  The oldest boy was telling me about his upcoming Pirate Party for his birthday celebration - I could tell he was excited about it.  He gave me many expressions and I loved every one of them.   His little brother had his own agenda so I just followed his curious explorations.  He's a fast one so I got my work out.  Aren't these boys adorable?

{so new, so beautiful}

webber-savannah_20100518_5058fyf

I was so excited to meet this little cutie!  She's was only 8 days old but seemed wiser and stronger than any 8 day old I've met.  This little dark haired beauty was lifting her head, trying to climb off my props and wanted to be stretched out.  There was no rolling up into a ball for this little one.  I think she knew better...she was in a big world where she could stretch and there was no need to be cramped, curled, or scrunched ;-)  Smart cookie.   I so enjoyed spending time and photographing her.

{Handsome, Squishy Lil' Newborn}

web-conner_20100516_4972i

***Squeal!***  I had so much fun photographing this little 10 day old baby boy. Isn't he adorable!!  The best part about photographing newborns is the fact that I get to hold such a new little life, hear their little squeals & grunts and I get to take my time with them (there's no rushing, we're on their schedules).   Of course it made me want to have a third baby sigh...but I'm just going to have to live vicariously through my clients instead ;-)  Here's a little peak at our session.

{No More Monkey's Jumping on the Bed}

cast-web-1newbThat's right. We've experienced first hand that playful jumps on the couch can be painful to our 4 year old.  We were hosting a neighborhood gathering at our house when this happened to little B.  She's been such a trooper through all of this.  She split and bent her bone in her forearm/elbow.  A few days after she got her splint we had an appointment to get her arm casted but after doing more x-rays the Doctor told us that B had to go in for an surgery that night so they could straighten (break) bend in the bone that was putting pressure on her other bone.  Gosh was that a shock - it was heart breaking to see Brielle unaware of what was going to happen as we got her in her gown and in the hospital bed.  Her spirits were calm and peaceful, she colored and we played rhyming games for the 2 hours it took them to prep her.  She's amazing!  These pictures were taken the day after her procedure - her cast is wrapped with bandages because they split the cast down the middle to allow room for swelling after her surgery.   Again, she's coloring and blowing bubbles with her bubble gum :)   Note to Parents:  Don't let your Monkey's jump on the bed or couch in our case!  :(  Although I'm pretty sure this won't stop her.

Brother & Sister Desert Session {Phoenix Children's Photographer}

Spring is in full swing here in the Arizona Valley.  Today it's supposed to get up to 94 degrees and creeping up to 100 before we know it.   So now is the perfect time for sessions before the heat gets too blazing hot.  I recently had a fantastic session with these two cuties.  They were so fun, I could've photographed them for hours &  hours :)  I love the interaction these two had with one another, so loving.   And little Grace was so excited to be photographed she didn't even want a break for drinks or snacks.  I loved it!   Anyway,  here's a little look inside our session. :)

{Missing Mexico....}

web-20x20-brielle

I can't believe how much time has passed since my last blog post.  Gosh, I'm sorry.  I have so much to blog and so little time.  But I'm honestly going to make it a priority since I appreciate you taking the time to come by and see my little space in this vast cyber world.

As you may remember, my family and I went on vacation to Mexico in March and we are all missing it already.  The kids had a blast, we relaxed and everyone ate far too many chips & guacamole.  Anyway, the things we saw and the experiences we had were ones I hope my kids never forget.  My parents were there (we all go together every other year) and I'm so glad my children were able to experience this vacation with their grandparents too.  I tried to photograph what I could without looking like a tourist with a big black box attached to my neck.  These are some of the moments I was able to capture.

Swimming - both kids are fish!   :)  And we convinced Brielle to come out for a quick nourishment break here (rare, she won't leave the pool for anything).  :)  Tyler got brave with the waves. He wants to boogie board next time :)web-mex-brielle-swim

{Designer Spotlight: Spring Collection-Kait Emerson Designs & Nuxiemade}

I'm back!!  Back from Mexico that is :)  It was a great vacation and the kids fell in love and want to move there.   Not surprising - they're little fish and they couldn't build enough sand castles.  They also had so much fun bartering in nearby villages and looking for seashells where ever they went.  Now that I'm back I feel like I have a TON to catch-up on!  So much to blog (lots in the queue right now).  The first thing that I want to blog is the new Spring Collection by Kait Emerson Designs.  She is talented beyond words and when I received the items to be photographed I instantly decided on a theme.   The Carnival!  The light blues, and pale pinks mixed with a punch of deeper colors screamed FUN and Childhood.  So the kids really got into it.  She included a cool boys shirt for Tyler to model - I love the colors {fun, yet definitely 'boy'}.  And the cute green and pink headband seen in many of the images are made by my favorite hat maker Nuxiemade.  She has a huge selection of colors to choose from on her site.  Here are a few images from our session.  Check out more items in Kait Emerson's Spring line at www.kaitemersondesigns.comcarnival-compilationbloggo-kisses-2

{Before I go...}

for-web-peasant-top-washedb

I was hoping to post more about my time at WPPI but I'm headed to Puerto Vallarta tomorrow and have been running around trying to get things done before my trip.  So I'll leave you with a picture of sweet Brielle an image that I thought needed a vintage, aged look.  And Tyler, sitting for a series I've been working on.  I love vintage photos.  In fact after I get home from vacation, I'm heading off to my grandmother's house in the Berkeley hills.  It was a house my grandfather built over 60 years ago.  It's been quite a while since I've been there so I'm looking forward to visiting her and taking pictures of the 100+ stairs that lead up to her house. Anyway, I hate to make this so short but if I don't I may have to pull an all nighter to get everything done.  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll blog more when I return!!

{Designer Spotlight: Eliza Kate}

You know how much I love Eliza Kate.  Here's part of her Spring line!  Isn't it darling?! She always amazes me with her cute and fun designs and her stuff is so comfortable (that's coming from a 4 year old - really).  Brielle wanted to sleep in the outfit shown at the bottom of this post since she already had it on, I carefully convinced her that PJ's would be best for sleeping lol.   Of course Brielle had to wear her boots - she loves those boots.  I'm trying to find some cute strapy sandals that she'll like and gravitate toward.  ;-)  But whatever makes her happy during a shoot lol.

So I'm getting ready to leave to go out of town for 2 weeks.  One week to WPPI in Vegas {woo hoo!} and then I return home for 2 days and head off to Puerto Vallarta Mexico with my family and my parents for a week.  So I'm trying to get a crazy amount of things done.  I have more Designer Spotlights in the queue waiting to be posted so I'll be getting to those in between my trips hopefully.  Then bookings are beginning for Spring are getting busy - and I am adding some fun new products as well.  Yay!!   Thanks for stopping by!

{Faith Works 4 U: Retro/Vintage Designer Spotlight}

Wanna know why I love this designer so much?  She's got the perfect combination of Retro-Vintage mixed with today in each dress she makes.   I love her style and can't say enough about it!   Check out her amazing work at FaithWorks4U .  I'm especially in love with her 1960's line...I drool every time I visit her site.  Amazing talent I tell ya.

On a side note: Happy Valentine's Day!!  The last two photos were added in honor of the fun holiday!  I made over 100 of these tasty lil treats for Tyler and Brielle's classmates and neighborhood friends. :) Their school parties brought me back to when I was young.  Such fun times.
